Presence
The acclaimed director tests his creative boundaries through this nifty supernatural story captured wholly from the viewpoint of the spirit. As a family with Lucy Liu as Rebekah plus Callina Liang as Chloe occupies their new suburban house, the lens – AKA the Presence – follows them around. The daughter appears sensing the supernatural presence, and it looks like guarding her. However, the motive remains? The premise is enjoyable that remains concise, featuring a surprise you might not see coming. Saturday 11 October, afternoon and evening times, the Sky channel

The Black Phone
Derrickson's locked-room horror remains effective even without a follow-up. Taking place in 1978 Denver, a series of disappearances has made the local kids anxious. When Finney is taken by “the Grabber” and held captive in a cellar, he anticipates a fatal end. But the old telephone in the room repeatedly calls, with spooky callers offering help, while the prescient dreams of his sister Gwen might rescue him. A solid creepfest. This Saturday, late evening, on Film4
The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the conflict between God and Mammon, the victory is clear for materialism in this director's delightfully tacky biopic of the disgraced TV preacher and her felon spouse. Andrew Garfield plays the corrupt Bakker, who declares at the beginning, claiming divine approval for wealth. Both individuals set about profiting from the people's spiritual convictions. It's an extravaganza of bad interior design, overdone appearance and bad faith, however the lead actress manages to show Tammy Faye in a likable light. October 14th, early morning, the Film4 channel
